School, District and Classroom News and Communications are now all in one place!
Say hello to classroom communication in the Boone County Schools app. Now, it’s easier than ever to stay up-to-date with your district, schools, and your student’s classes and activities. The Boone County School District wants to make it easy to communicate with teachers and staff at the classroom level. The rest of our new app is designed to broadcast information such as weather-related school closings, delays and early dismissals, as well as any other school or district-wide alerts. This is where we will also share all the amazing moments that happen within our school district community throughout the school year.
Some quick tips to get you started after download:
Currently you will see the district when you are on home, the home icon on the bottom left hand corner of your phone screen.
Look at the top left corner and touch the three white lines in the blue square.
At the bottom of the phone screen it will say change school. Click that and and select Longbranch Elementary. I believe you should be able to select multiple schools if you have students in several schools.
From the Longbranch page you will see the following tabs that can be expanded by tapping them. Events, Staff, Documents, Menu, and the Help Center.
Events: will be where school event dates will be posted
Staff: list of staff will eventually be found and contact information will be linked.
Documents: There are several folders in the section (Quick Links, Forms, For Parents, Extracurricular Information, SBDM, and Supply List)
From there you can always view Boone County Schools feed and the schools main feed page. This feed will be whole school news.
Please note that this is only for communication with the school and your students teacher. You will still utilize Infinite Campus for academic, attendance, and registration purposes.
Once the school year starts and we turn on the "rooms" in the bottom right hand corner of your phone, you will not be able to select a classroom like you did in Bloomz.
We will send out more information soon. If you get this done for now, you are in GREAT shape! We are learning as we go also!!

Most families use their phones as a primary means of communication. With this in mind, Boone County Schools is launching a NEW mobile app to help students, parents, and community members know what is happening on campus from their phones. On the app, students, parents, and the school community can read the latest announcements, locate staff contact information, review upcoming events, and find important documents. Through this app we are bringing all communications into one place.
Bringing dialogue into one place
After selecting a class, students, parents, and guardians will be taken to what is called their Class Stream. A Class Stream allows you to view different announcements within a particular course as well as any required permission slips, forms, or assignments given by teachers. This is also where the teacher’s google classroom would sync assignments and announcements so parents and guardians can truly have one place to stay informed.
Two-Way Messaging
The NEW Boone County Schools, KY app, (as it is called in the app stores) takes conversations from different channels and unifies them all in one place. If a student, parent or guardian has questions about upcoming assignments, class curriculum, or anything day-to-day, they can message their teacher directly through this app. Parents will never have to wonder when their children’s homework is due, and students can ask their teacher school-related questions in a monitored, safe place. This is a safe space for teachers to communicate with students and their parents in a way that protects all involved.
Translation
In today’s world, you need to engage diverse audiences. That’s why our new app offers translation that works directly with your phone’s settings – to provide a more accurate and robust translation so everyone can stay engaged.
